Energy-Saving Flotation Machine Pneumatic Mechanical Agitating Flotation Machine Used in Mines


Flotation machine is applicable to grading of non-ferrous and ferrous metal, also applicable to grading of nonmetals, such as coal, fluorite and talc. The impeller of flotation machine is driven by motor v-belt, centrifugal effect is thus produced and negative pressure is formed, which, on the one hand, absorbs adequate air to mix with ore pulp, and on the other hand, stirs the ore pulp and mixes the ore pulp with medicines and refine bubbles; thus, the minerals will be adhered to the bubbles and float to the pulp surface and form foam layer. Adjust the opening of flash board and cone valve and control the liquid level to make the useful bubbles scraped out by scraper blade. For selection of flotation machines, the following information shall be indicated: Models, specifications and number of flotation cells. Number of scraper blade devices (left or right). Single-side scraping or double-side scraping. Numbers of feed boxes, middling boxes, tailing boxes, feed pipes and middling pipes. Liquid level can be controlled manually, electrically or automatically. Deployment diagram of flotation technological process should be provided.



XCF II /KYF II flotation machine is the flotation machine further developed based on XCF/KYF flotation machine. It adopts relatively deep U-shaped cell; hollow shaft for aeration and suspended stator; the blade of impeller is inclined to a degree, with little pressure head, large circulation volume, low power consumption and simple-structured new-type impeller; air distributor of porous circular shape was installed in the cavity of impeller to make air dispersed homogeneously. There are two models designed: XCF II and KYF II.

XCF II flotation machine: able to absorb pulp; can serve as the suction cell for job steps of roughing, scavenging and concentration, and should be deployed together with KYF II flotation machine. There is no need for foam pump for returning of middlings.

KYF II flotation machine: not able to absorb pulp; when it is deployed for independent operation, the preceding and subsequent job steps should be deployed step-wise with a drop of 300-500mm. The returning of middlings counts on the pumping of foam pump. If it is deployed together with XCF II flotation machine, KYF II flotation machine can serve as the green cell for job steps of roughing, scavenging and concentration; they are deployed horizontally and there is no need for foam pump for returning of middlings.

The scraping mechanism of XCF II /KYF II flotation machine is divided into single-side scraping or double-side scraping, and the user can select from the two types according to the process requirements.


Main features:

Large aeration quantity, uniform gas dispersion, low energy consumption and saving 30~50% electricity compared with common flotation machine. Simple structure and convenient for maintenance. Low wear of quick-wear parts such as impeller and stator, saving 70~80% cost. Good circulation performance of ore pulp, low consumption of agents, saving 10~15% consumption. The combined unit can form flotation circuit by being deployed on the same horizontal level with no need for foam pump. If the user has requirements for automatic control device for the control of ore pulp and aeration quantity, multiple automatic control functions can be realized by manual/automatic switching and onsite/centralized control.



This machine is suitable for various flotation operations of roughing, scavenging and concentration of metal and non-metallic ores. The chosen range of material particle sizes is 0.3~0.01mm, and it is suitable for flotation of relative coarse ore particles.


Work Principle

The KYF flotation machine is similar to the Otto Quinn FOK type flotation machine in Finland, which absorbs the advantages of the Dorr Oliver flotation machine in the United States. The flotation machine uses U type body, hollow shaft to inflate and suspend the stator, especially a new type of impeller. This is a conical impeller with a backward angle to the blade, which is similar to a centrifugal pump wheel with high specific speed. The pulp is expensive, the pressure head is small, the power consumption is low, and the structure is simple. A porous cylindrical air distributor is also installed in the impeller cavity, so that the air can be dispersed evenly in most parts of the impeller blades, providing a larger slurry air contact interface. When the flotation machine works, as the impeller rotates, the slurry in the tank can be sucked into the impeller blades from the bottom of the impeller through the bottom of the trough, and at the same time, the low pressure air supplied by the blower will also enter the air distributor through the hollow shaft and the impeller. Slurry is fully mixed with the air between the blades, impeller from the upper periphery syncline launched by the stator current and the trough in the backward direction. The bubbles rise to the stable zone of the foam. Through the enrichment process, the foam flows from the overflow weir and enters the foam slot. Some of the pulp flows to the lower part of the impeller, and then agitator by impeller to form a mineralized bubble again. The remaining slurry flows to the next trough until it finally becomes a tailings.
